Can Chiropractic care help children?
Birth and early infancy can be a very traumatic time for both mother and baby.
Many infants suffer trauma to their skull and neck due to the use of forceps and ventouse delivery.
As the child grows up and starts to walk, bumps and falls can affect the developing bones, ligaments and muscles.
Carrying bags at school, sitting at desks and sport may also lead to stresses and injury.
The result of this can be the tightening of the muscles on the back or neck, causing the joints to lose mobility creating functional problems. This may then interfere with health of your child.
The chiropractor will take a thorough medical history and examination to determine whether the spinal motion is normal and the cause of your child’s symptoms. Treatment normally consists of light gentle manipulation to the parts of the spine not moving properly, stretching and special joint adjustments adapted to the age and size of the child.
You get your children’s eyes, ears and teeth checked regularly so why not their spine too?
